What is “Pirate Core?”

Pirate rock, pirate core, or whatever you want to call it refers to Portland’s legacy of pirates dressing up as rock musicians and vice versa. And this is not to say that pirate core is confined to the walls of this stone-colored city (hidden Pirate Jenny lyric reference). Search our pirate core band directory to see a list of some of the popular pirate acts around the world, and to make recommendations for bands you think should be added to the list.

Portland's groundbreaking pirate core band Pirate Jenny was influenced by XTC
